4 Days Chimpanzee and Wildlife Safari to Kibale Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Parks

Tour overview

This 4 Days Safari will start and end in Kampala, Ugandas capital. It involves visiting  Queen Elizabeth National Park which is located in Western Uganda and Kibale National Park which is home to Chimpanzees and other Primate species like the colobus monkeys, Hosts monkeys among others. The park is famous for chimpanzee tracking, bird watching, nature walks among others. Activities like a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, game drives in the park, birding watching, and a visit to the crater lakes etc.
The park is home to various around 90 mammal species such as tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, and antelopes among others, over 500 bird species and tree species.

Day 1

Depart for Kibale National Park

After breakfast in Kampala, our guide/driver will pick you up and  drive you to the west for Kibale National Park after briefing. Along the way you will have magnificent  views of the Rwenzori ranges and the countryside of the area and along the journey have a stopover for lunch and refreshment. On arrival in kibale, check in at your lodge, and in the afternoon and later have a walk in Bigodi wetlands where you will find various bird species. Later have dinner and overnight.

 

Day 2

Chimpanzee Tracking -Transfer to Queen Elizabeth

After a briefing concerning chimpanzee tracking such that by 7:00am you start the search for these primates in the forest. You will also see other various primates like the LHoests monkeys, Grey cheeked Mangabey, white and black colobus, red tailed monkeys, also birds will be spotted like the green breasted pitta, rumped tinker bird and also different plant species will be seen. Later in the afternoon, after your lunch head back to the lodge and setoff for Queen Elizabeth National Park and arrive late in the afternoon. Check-in at your lodge in the evening

Day 3

Game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After an early morning breakfast, proceed for a game drive which lasts for about 3 hours through various game tracks searching for wildlife such as waterbucks, elephants, antelopes, leopards, lions, among others. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. Here you will have an opportunity to see different bird species, herds of buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos, and so on. In the evening drive back to the lodge, have dinner and an overnight.

Day 4

A visit to Lake Katwe and the Crater lakes region -Departure

After an early breakfast, drive towards lake katwe and also the crater lakes region, you will be able to see various salt pans around the lake. Later  proceed to Kampala, have stopover in Masaka for lunch and also at the equator, take enough photos and proceed to Kampala reaching late in the afternoon.
